It’s a bit weird getting in here to push posts while it’s kind of a slow-moving construction zone on the back end. That’s kind of the issue with wordpress, I suppose. Even now, I’m pretty sure there’s a few post rendering issues here and there that make things look weird, but it’s fine. I’m still here.
The site refurbishment is taking place when myself and my developer have time between our other obligations, and so we’re sort of in maintenance mode in that respect. This isn’t an official deadline, but I’m kind of personally hoping we can pull off a relaunch ahead of Artemis II. While that’s the case, I’m still answering emails the same as ever, addressed to the email in the sidebar. Fortunately email isn’t affected by all the work going on, not since we successfully transitioned webhosts anyway.
Just the other day I helped someone out from overseas with guidance for the Atlas launch scheduled for 13 November, and I was about to set out for today (12 November)’s attempted second launch of New Glenn before they tweeted its postponement due to solar activity. Really throws a wrench in my work week, I had off today for it and everything.
Websites are a pain in general; it got to the point where a friend helped me out with some just plain HTML and CSS so I could create my personal website without having to deal with the weirdness of site builders. Probably not good for SEO or whatever but I dont care. it’s website. it works. I know how to add more pages and put stuff on them with that, where I don’t with WP.
As far as launch viewing news, I haven’t yet had the chance to visit KSCVC’s refurbished, reopened Gantry at LC-39 for either daily attendance or a launch, but it certainly exists as a viewing opportunity now after a few years out of commission. The parks that were knocked out of commission by Milton have since bounced back with shoreline restoration, et cetera. I’ve heard anecdotally that the boardwalks at Playalinda, post-repair, arentt what they used to be in terms of view. Little stuff like that. Also we had the worst flooding outside of a hurricane in decades a couple weeks back. That was fun. I got to bike home from work in record floodwaters.
Take care of yourselves, stay dry, and safe travels,
Lupi
